Bachelor of Science (Honours/ Honours with research) Statistics is a three/four year under graduate degree program which focuses on the collection, meaningful segregation, and interpretation of data. B.Sc. (Hons.) Statistics program provides an analytical and conceptual understanding of the subject to students so that they are able to apply knowledge practically.
This course begins with foundational courses in the first year, covering fundamental concepts in descriptive statistics, probability theory and Distribution Theory. In Second and third year, students deal with more advanced techniques in statistical analysis, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, experimental design and time series analysis. Alongside as a part of multidisciplinary approach we covered it with Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) specifically English communication, Environmental science and Vocational and Skill Enhancement Courses (VSEC) which are Introduction to Python Programming, Introduction to R Programming, R Shiny, Programming with Scilab and Fundamentals of Computer such as Excel.
Eligibility
Passed HSC or its equivalent examination in science stream with subject Mathematics and candidate should have appeared in MGMU-CET 2024 and should obtain nonzero score in
